If you happen to plan on making a unicorn themed party, why not try to make a unicorn topper for a cake? This is a wonderful idea to make and it will be more special if you do it on your own! Materials and ingredients for unicorn cake topper
>Satin Ice rolled fondant
>Satin Ice gum paste
>Dust colors: brown, gold and use alcohol (vodka) for Unicorn horn and hooves
>Ameri Colors for Unicorn hair: blue, light rose, rose, purple, light purple, yellow
>Ameri black color for eyes and eyeslashes
>Dried spaghetti or skewer (not edible)
Tools and equipment
>Fondant and gum paste modeling tools (needle tool, veining tool, corn tool)
>Sugarcraft fondant/gum paste mat
>Mini pocket scale
Modeling paste recipe
>75gr (2.6oz) Satin Ice Fondant
>75gr (2.6oz) Satin Ice Gumpaste
>1/2 tsp of CMC powder to make the paste set more quickly
Combine and knead 2 paste together first, then add 1/2tsp of CMC powder, knead all together until smooth.
Colours used from modeling paste
>115 grams (4.1oz) of white for body, head, legs, horn, ears (leave modeling paste blank - no color added)
>5 grams (0.18oz) of each color blue, light rose, rose, purple, light purple, yellow for Unicorn hair (add the Americolor and keep kneading until achieved the smooth modeling paste again)
>5 grams (0.18oz) of black for eyes and eyelashes (modeling paste + Ameri black color)

Step by step Unicorn directions
Step 1. The unicorn body: roll 60g (2.1oz) white modelling paste into a corn shape, then make it longer and pull up for the neck.Shape the chest, insert a spaghetti into the neck, it is 2 cm above the neck and makes a hole at the back of the body for attaching the tail later.
Step 2. To make the back legs: roll 2 x 8g (0.3oz) white modeling paste into a ball .from half of the ball lengthen the lower leg, then bend to shape the leg.Using the needle tool to mark the hoof. You need to make the same for the other back leg.
Step 3. For the front legs: use 2 x 8g (0.3oz) white modeling paste to make. It is the same the back legs but bends the lower front leg at the opposite position.
Step 4. Attach 2 back legs, 2 front legs to the body using edible glue.
Step 5. The unicorn head - use 18g (0.6oz) white modeling pate to make a ball, at haft of the ball shape the front muzzle.Use the corn tool to indent the 2 nostrils
Step 6. For the lower lip: make a little corn, flatten it then attach under the front jaw
Step 7. To make the eyes - use the corn tool to mark 2 small holes for the eye sockets Using dark sugar paste to make 2 small corn shape then fill to the eye socket holes. Roll 2 thin laces for the eyelashes.
Step 8. To make the ears - use 1g (0.04oz) white modeling paste to make 2 tiny balls. Flatten them, mark a deep groove at the center with the veining tool. Using edible glue to attach to the top head.
Step 9. Make the horn - use a dried spaghetti to make a hole in the forehead. You will need 2g white modelling paste Roll a small sausage thinner at 2 ends about 8cm long.Fold in half and twist it. Push a dried spaghetti to keep the horn upright. Mix a little gold dust colour with alcohol to paint the horn. Attach the head to the body then the horn to the head. Dust the nostrils, around the nose and 4 hooves with brown colour
Step 10. To make the tail and the mane: shape each colour sugar paste into a small sausage roll. Put them together and fill to the tube of the extruder. For the tail, extrude the long hair dust with corn flour cut and pinch, then twist and fill to the end of the body. Extrude some long hair for the mane, attach to the head, allow to fall to the neck and around the horn. See more in the clip. That is it!
